Lake Oconee and Lake Allatoona

Funny names, aren’t they? They are Indian words that mean “beside the water” and “place of the fire”. Both are beautiful lakes in Georgia, where we spent time after leaving Ashburn, GA. We spent 4 nights at each place, taking in the natural beauty and wildlife, including a family of golden eagles at Lake Oconee! We also had tons of fun visiting with Captain Dave’s college buddy Dave “Bubba” Smith and his wife Kathy.
